I selectively invite a small number of passionate West Coast Swing dancers to explore mentorship with me. This path favors depth, honesty, and long-term growth over faster and less desirable results. We begin by connecting socially at dances, meetups and dance events. I will observe your current dance level, timing, technique, and teamwork. My 35 years in West Coast Swing gave me insight into the many layer of your dancing. I have lived in and with this dance from many years that gives me a unique prospective. I have evolved over the years with the dance and the ever changing music.
This mentorship fits dancers who feel curious, patient, and deeply committed to improvement. Skill level matters less than mindset and consistency. You must welcome new ideas and trust the learning process. Growth takes time and intention. I value dancers who build strong foundations before chasing complex ideas. This journey rewards those who show up, reflect honestly, and stay open to change. It does not reward shortcuts or comparisons.
In group classes dance patterns dominate most learning time. Fundamentals often get overlooked. West Coast Swing lives in mechanics, connection, and pattern choices. Mentorship allows us to focus on those essentials. I study how you move, then guide what needs refinement. This approach creates clarity and direction. I once lacked this guidance and drifted between lessons. Mentorship replaces confusion with purpose
What We Build Together…
This mentorship functions like a dance life friendship. We develop confidence, musical understanding, and social floor presence through shared experiences. You dance regularly with others who value growth and respect. We support each other on and off the floor. Accountability grows naturally through community. You gain competitive readiness without losing joy. We dance because we love it, not because we chase status or points.
I have taught for over two years at Famous Fridays and trained with Jordan Frisbee and Tatiana Mollmann. I continue learning every week. Why I mentor because dance brings joy worth sharing. Few things compare to moving as if you are part of the music itself. If you feel drawn to that experience and value alignment, reach out to me socially at any dances, meetup or events. Let us see if this path fits for you or your partner.
