Why Connection Over Moves Wins
West Coast Swing attracts us with elastic shapes, musical breaks, and spectacular videos. Yet lasting dances begin with connection over moves, not visual fireworks. A partner must feel heard before either dancer can create confidently. Therefore, I judge a successful dance by shared timing and genuine ease. Technique matters, but technique should strengthen the conversation rather than dominate it.
